Notes:
Arrive in the morning at Sentani Airport, do some introduction then we will go straight to Nimbokrang District. The journey takes around 2.5 hours and passes through savannahs and mountain roads near Lake Sentani. While on the way we will watch birds until we arrive in Nimbokrang for lunch. After that, we will check in at a homestay and have lunch at a traditional restaurant. In the afternoon, we will go birding in the savannah and rice fields to search for Papuan Faintail, streak headed munia, spotted pigeon and Greater Black Coucal. Finally, we return to our homestay in the late afternoon, and have dinner. Take a break because tomorrow morning we will visit the bird spot.
At 05.00 am, after breakfast, depart by car about 10 minutes to Alex’s location where there are Lesser Bird of Paradise, Brown Lory, Hook Billed Kingfisher, Pale Billed SickleBill, etc. You can spend your time to take photos until late afternoon. In the evening we will see Marbel Frogmouth and Papuan Nightjar.
At 04.00 am, transfer our b`fast box by car to the old Korean logging road where place Twelve Wired Bird of Paradise, Coconut Lorikeet, Blue and Black Kingfisher, Big black coucal. Afterwards, we return to Nimbokrang town for lunch. Next, we will do bird photography in the afternoon until evening. Finally, we will have dinner and take a rest at the homestay for tomorrow morning to continue searching for some birds in Nimbokrang and Sentani town.
At 05.00 am after breakfast, transfer by car to a spot where we will get to observe Victorian crowned pigeons, blue and black kingfishers, and brown lorikeets. Return to the lodge for lunch and drive back to Sentani town. Finally, dinner and overnight at the Grand Alison hotel as tomorrow morning we will depart for Syoubri which will take 2.5 to 3 hours.
After breakfast, at 07.00 am depart by car to Sentani Airport with around 15 minutes to arrive at Sentani Airport and depart for Manokwari. Upon arrival in Manokwari, we will depart by car to Syoubri village, Arfak mountain area. Estimated travel time by car is around 2.5 – 3 hours including stops for bird photography. After that, we will break for lunch and continue our journey. Arriving in the afternoon at Syoubri village. Finally, we will have dinner and rest at Mr. Zeth Wanggor’s homestay because we will leave for the next destination tomorrow morning.
At 05.00 am, we start with a hike to the first place in West Parotia, located higher than our homestay. The hike is around 45 minutes. We have a good time photographing the beautiful birds. Afterwards, we descend back to the lodge for breakfast, after which we continue photographing birds around Syoubri village. After that, we rest and have lunch at the lodge. After that, in the afternoon, we leave for the place of Magnificent Bird of Paradise. Finally, we return to the homestay for dinner and rest at the homestay so that tomorrow morning we can prepare for the hill top of Arfak mountain.
At 05.00 am, after we have breakfast, we will climb slowly to the top of the hill top of Arfak mountain. On the way we will stop to watch the Arfak Astrapia and Paradigala Bird of Paradise, Bower Bird. Then, we continue our hike to the top where you will spend the night at Tends with our crew. In this place you have a good chance to take photos of the Black-beaked Bird of Paradise. We will take lunch, dinner and overnight at Tends. We will rest for tomorrow to continue the next destination.
In the morning after breakfast, before returning to Syoubri, we will take photos of the Black Sickle Billed. Then, hike slowly down to Syoubri and we will have lunch at the homestay. Then, we will depart back to Manokwari for an overnight stay at Aston Niu Hotel. Finally, enjoy dinner at the hotel and rest to depart for the next destination.
After breakfast, we will depart for Manokwari airport with an early morning flight to Sorong. After a 1-hour flight, we will land at Sorong airport. Then, we will depart for Waisai Island as the capital of Raja Ampat island. The trip is by comfortable ferry and the trip is around 3 hours. After arriving at Waisai island, we will depart for Waigeo Resort to relax in the afternoon. You will have dinner and rest because tomorrow we will do Waigeo tour.
At 05.00 am, we will depart for the Wilson Bird of Paradise spot, which is around 35 minutes. Then we will hike around 20 minutes to the best spot for photography location. You can take the best photos when the birds fly to look for food. Then, continue taking bird photos of other species such as: Nuri Electus, Hornbill Bliths, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, Yellow-crested Cockatoo, Green Imperial Pigeon, etc. After that, you will return to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, we will depart for the Red Bird of Paradise spot. You can spend your time to take the best photos of the beautiful birds. Finally, with taking beautiful bird photos, we return to the hotel in the afternoon for dinner and rest at Waigeo Resort, tomorrow we will do Waigeo Tour.
At 05.00 am, after breakfast, we will depart for the old logging road where we will find western crowned pigeon, pinan pigeon, papua frog mouth, papua breast book, papua mountain eagle, dollar bird, trumpeter manuk, shining flycatcher, king of heaven bird, gerygone, yellow-billed king bird, and others. Then, we will return to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, we will do bird photography of beach kingfisher, Radja sellduck, pacific duck, papua fantail and great billed kingfisher. Finally, back to the lodge in the afternoon to relax, then dinner and rest at Waigeo resort for tomorrow morning we continue Waigeo tour.
At 05.00 am, we will depart to the same place as Wilson Bird of Paradise. Then, we return to the resort for breakfast. Continue bird photography to other species, and in the afternoon we will return to Red Bird of Paradise. Then, we return to the resort in the afternoon and relax. Finally, we will enjoy dinner and rest.
Relax in the morning until lunch time, before returning to the ferry to return to Sorong city. In Sorong, you will spend the night in a 4-star hotel.
Finally, depart for Sorong airport to fly back home.
